Pahalgam, on the other hand, is 90 kilometres away from Srinagar and the travel duration is approx 2-3 hours depending on the traffic and road condition. Though Gulmarg is more accessible from Jammu or Srinagar, Pahalgam can easily be reached by cabs or buses via a soothing road journey. 

• Local Transportation: Both the towns have abundant taxis and cabs for local transportation. As far as reaching the skiing slopes, Gulmarg offers the longest cable car ride in the world, Gondola rides. Meanwhile, a more traditional option of horse carriages are available in Pahalgam for the transfer to ski areas. While Pahalgam has a very unique and charming option, Gulmarg still stands out with a better skiing infrastructure.
